On behalf of Labour leader Hon Phil Goff and Labour Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Ethnic Affairs Hon Chris Carter, I am proud to be here with you tonight to celebrate this landmark anniversary.
很荣幸在这里庆祝中国六十周年华诞。再过两天又是中秋节，我谨代表工党领袖Hon Phil Goff和外交及民族事务发言人Hon Chris Carter向大家表示祝贺！
China has long held strong ties with New Zealand, and the bond between our two countries has grown stronger.
It was under former Trade Minister and current Leader of the Labour Party, Hon Phil Goff that New Zealand signed a Free Trade Agreement with China.
This Agreement was a watershed moment in the relationship between China and New Zealand. It has opened up a wealth of opportunities for both countries economically, culturally and socially.
The value of our exports to China over the year ended June 2009 increased by 62%, making China New Zealand’s third largest business partner. And I acknowledge the presence tonight of the Trade Minister Hon Tim Groser.
工党执政期间和中国签订了自由贸易协定。新西兰截至2009 年6月，出口额增长62%，中国已是新西兰第三大贸易伙伴。
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chinese and wider Asian communities for their support of my recent efforts in Parliament to include an Asian Advisory Board as part of the Auckland Super City.
I have received a lot of positive feedback from the Asian community and I’m glad to report that I will continue to fight for an Asian voice as part of Auckland’s future.

As important as many issues are in the world of politics – many cultures can be better understood in New Zealand society. Prejudice originates from ignorance.

Last Sunday I was honoured to attend the Moon Festival and the 60th China National Day Celebration organised by the United Chinese Association at the Civic Theatre in Auckland along with Hon Phil Goff.
I was humbled by the numerous volunteers and community groups who had sacrificed their time to contribute to such a colourful day which showcased the togetherness and vibrancy of our Chinese Community here in New Zealand.
上个星期天参加的华社国庆演出，令人感触，许多团体和个人都是自发、义工式地牺牲自己的人力物力。演出非常精彩！感谢团体联合会和黄伟璋会长。
余光中先生有一首诗，形容中国是“最美最母亲的国度”。对许多海外华人来说，描述的正是这种心情。我们无论描绘什么样的图画，中国都是我们的底色。
I’m proud to represent all Chinese people and all New Zealanders, as the first Labour Party member of Parliament of Chinese ethnicity.
