With 9 exabytes, the Vodafone cable network reached a new peak in 2019. The company announced this on December 30, 2019. Video streaming generated more than half of the data volume, especially from the platforms YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime. In the Vodafone cable network, data consumption is still twelve times higher than in mobile communications. "In 2018, there were about 6 exabytes of data in the cable network," said Vodafone spokesman Tobias Krzossa Golem.de on request.

On average, every household in the Vodafone cable network used around 7 gigabytes of data a day in 2019. The Docsis 3.1 cable network standard already enables 11.3 million households at Vodafone and Unitymedia to achieve data rates of up to 1 Gbit / s.

Vodafone has transmitted more than 770 million gigabytes in mobile communications in the past 12 months. That is almost 40 percent more than in the previous year. Most data went through the Vodafone mobile network in 2019 in the most populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia with 134 million gigabytes. In Hamburg it was 20 million gigabytes, in Thuringia 24 million gigabytes and in Berlin 35 million gigabytes.
